We are currently searching for a DANCE SUPERVISOR – TORONTO(This is where the position would be based)
JOB SUMMARY:
- Teach existing choreography to both Character and Main stage performers involved in Disney Cruise Line productions including but not limited to theatrical productions, deck parties, theme nights, character programs and other entertainment events and activities
- Collaborates and partners closely with Creative Director, Producer, Show Directors, Production Manager, Stage Managers, Maintenance Show Directors, and Dance Captains
- Maintain show quality
- Maintain current library of scripts, blocking books, rehearsal tapes, videos, and music scores
- Give notes to performers
- On occasion create original choreography for projects, shows or events
EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree in Dance, Dance Certification or equivalent
· Proven experience teaching dance
· Demonstrated strong communications skills
· Demonstrated ability to stay current with the latest dance styles and techniques
· Demonstrated ability to learn and retain professional choreography
· Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate performers' potential
· Demonstrated ability to give constructive performance notes to performers regarding staging, choreography, stage presence, and generally accepted Disney performance standards
· Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
· Ability to demonstrate a variety of styles of choreography or direction clearly and accurately
