DISNEY CRUISE LINES

 We are currently searching for a  DANCE SUPERVISOR – TORONTO(This is where the position would be based) 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Teach existing choreography to both Character and Main stage performers involved in Disney Cruise Line productions including but not limited to theatrical productions, deck parties, theme nights, character programs and other entertainment events and activities
  • Collaborates and partners closely with Creative Director, Producer, Show Directors, Production Manager, Stage Managers, Maintenance Show Directors, and Dance Captains
  • Maintain show quality
  • Maintain current library of scripts, blocking books, rehearsal tapes, videos, and music scores
  • Give notes to performers
  • On occasion create original choreography for projects, shows or events

 

EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor's degree in Dance, Dance Certification or equivalent

·         Proven experience teaching dance

·         Demonstrated strong communications skills

·         Demonstrated ability to stay current with the latest dance styles and techniques

·         Demonstrated ability to learn and retain professional choreography

·         Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate performers' potential

·         Demonstrated ability to give constructive performance notes to performers regarding staging, choreography, stage presence, and generally accepted Disney performance standards

·         Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

·         Ability to demonstrate a variety of styles of choreography or direction clearly and accurately

INTERVIEW DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED! STAY TUNED! 

-All applicants must have a minimum of 2- 3 years experience in a luxury international property hotel or 2 years on a luxury cruise ship is preferred.

 
-Must have previous and recent experience in the position you are applying for above.
 
-Very good spoken English (must score at least 70% in an onboard English proficiency test)
 
-Excellent communication skills
 
-Good organizational skills and show attention to detail.
 
-Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
 
-Must posses the ability to deal with all levels of people.
 
-Must be service minded with an outgoing and charming personality.
 
 Bar and Waiter positions- must have good product knowledge, international wines, beers, cocktails etc.
 
Front desk staff-Hotel or tourism school is beneficial and previous experience in cash handling is also beneficial.
 
Waiter/Waitress-College degree/diploma or relevant apprenticeship in a food service industry or minimum 3 years experience in a luxury hotel or resort or Cruise ship as a waiter/waitress is preferred.
 
Chef/chef de Partie-Culinary institute diploma or chef certification or other relevant apprenticeship is required. Or a minimum of 3 years experience in a luxury Hotel, resort or Cruise ship is preferred. Sound knowledge in culinary arts and fine dining is required.
